Verlo : Générique
Project made possible through The State51 conspiracy
Designed in Collaboration with Verlo
Générique unveils a rich musical world that brings French chanson, indie rock and electronic textures together. The five tracks, recorded at La Frette Studios in Paris, are brought to life by an ensemble of acclaimed Anglo-American musicians directed by Mercury Prize-winning producer James Ford and Loren Humphrey. Tinged with dark, mischievous poetry that glimmers with sensuality, Générique is a hymn to liberated women. A call to live and love freely.
We wanted the folio editions to unzip like a leather biker jacket, to reveal a feminine pink cloth interior. The left and right panels of the cruciform folio are adorned with screen printed credits, as well as an image of Verlo. In the centre, the lathe-cut record, embroidered mouchoir and screen-printed lyric sheet are wrapped in a featherweight Japanese tissue, branded with the Verlo logo and hand sealed with a Verlo seal in red wax. A 7ml custom fragrance blended and produced by Priddy Essentials in the UK is included in every folio. Also included is a calling card housed in a translucent envelope, stamped and signed by Verlo herself, making each folio unique.
All products were designed by Tilly de Verteuil and handmade in England at the state51 Atelier.

51st Edition
The one-off 51st edition was made to be a cross between a handbag and a vintage record carrying case. The case is secured with a belt and buckle, and opens to reveal the lathe-cut transparent record standing in the centre, a 50ml bottle of the custom fragrance housed in a faux cigarette packet sitting at its feet. The perfume features a custom made lid, and affixed to the front of the bottle is a hand stamped Verlo seal in black wax. The embroidered lace mouchoir and screen printed lyric sheet are housed in a pocket in the back of the case, along with a signed and stamped calling card featuring a special message from Verlo. A hidden magnetic catch keeps them secured in the case behind the screen printed credits. All products were designed by Tilly de Verteuil and handmade in England at the state51 Atelier.
